Privacy policy
What this website collects, why, where it is kept and how to ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Last updated 11 October 2026.
About this policy
Comingwave is a business name registered in Australia.
This is the Comingwave privacy policy. It explains what personal information this website, comingwave.com.au, collects, how that information is used and stored, and the choices you have.
In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Comingwave, whose head office is in Girraween, New South Wales.
We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
This policy covers the website. Work we do for clients is covered by its own written agreement. The rules for using the site are in the website terms of use.
What we collect when you contact us
The website has two forms that send information to us, and one shortcut that leads to the first of them.
The quote and enquiry form collects:
- your name
- your email address
- your company
- what you need help with
- your project details
The home page has a quick enquiry bar. The service and business size you choose there are passed to the contact page, so the enquiry form opens with them already selected.
The waitlist form for Comingwave Academy collects:
- your name
- your email address
- the class track you are interested in
We collect this directly from you, and only when you choose to send it. You can read the site without telling us who you are.
Please do not put sensitive information in a message, such as health details, bank or card details or government identifiers. We do not need it to answer an enquiry.
If you email or phone us instead of using a form, we receive whatever you choose to tell us, along with your email address or phone number.
How we use your information
We use what you send for one of two purposes:
- to reply to your enquiry
- if you joined the waitlist, to tell you about Comingwave Academy classes
We do not use it for anything else. Sending an enquiry does not put you on a mailing list.
Technical information the site records
Like most websites, this one records some technical information so that it can run and be protected from misuse. Server logs include your IP address, your browser type and the pages requested. The hosting provider keeps these logs for a limited period.
To limit spam through the forms, the site may also use a one-way scrambled form of your IP address, sometimes called a hash. This lets the site notice repeated submissions from the same source.
Cookies
The public site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. It does not use third-party analytics or advertising pixels. Fonts and images are served from the site itself and not from an outside service.
If that changes, for example if an analytics tool is added later, this policy will be updated to say so.
The site has a sign-in area that is used only by the owner to manage the site. It uses Google Firebase Authentication, which keeps the storage in the owner's browser that is needed to stay signed in. Visitors are not asked to sign in or create an account.
Where your information is stored
Form submissions are stored in a database hosted on Google Cloud in its Sydney region, in Australia. Our email is handled through Google Workspace.
Although form submissions are stored in Australia, Google may process some data on servers outside Australia, in particular for email and for the sign-in service.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent personal information.
We disclose it only in these situations:
- to the service providers that host this website and our email, which is Google
- when the law requires us to
How we protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. These include encryption in transit and at rest, access limited to the site owner, and input validation and rate limiting on the forms.
No way of sending or storing information online is completely secure. If you would rather not send something through a form, phone us instead.
Seeing, correcting or deleting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@comingwave.com.au and tell us what you would like done.
If you are on the Academy waitlist, you can ask to be removed at any time by emailing the same address.
We may need to check that a request really comes from you before we act on it. If we cannot do what you ask, for example because the law requires us to keep a record, we will tell you why.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child under 16 has sent us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first using the details at the end of this page. We will look into it and reply to you.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the website changes. Any changes will be posted on this page.
